Pursuing the B.Tech in Film and TV (Hons) at the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT) has been a truly transformative experience in Priyanath's career. As a screenwriter, director, novelist, and visiting lecturer, he has always been passionate about storytelling, and this degree gave him both the academic foundation and practical skills needed to elevate his craft. The program offered an excellent balance of theory and hands-on practice, enriching his knowledge of visual language, production design, and the collaborative process of filmmaking. These skills enabled him to approach writing and directing with greater creativity and professionalism. Currently, in his role as Secretary of the Screenwriters Guild of Sri Lanka, he works to advocate for screenwriters and support the growth of the industry. To date, he has written more than six teledramas and five films, achievements he closely connects to the training received through this program. It has shaped him not only as a filmmaker but also as a mentor, giving him the ability to guide future storytellers in Sri Lanka.
