Emeritus Professor Harishchandra Abeygunawardena is a distinguished academic leader and scientist of national and international repute. He holds a BVSc from the University of Peradeniya and an MSc and PhD from the University of Illinois, USA. Throughout his illustrious career, he served as Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya from 2006 to 2008 and has held membership at the University of Kelaniya, the National Institute of Education, and the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute. He previously served as Chairman of the Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) and the National Education Commission of Sri Lanka. His lifelong dedication to advancing higher education, research, and vocational training in Sri Lanka makes him an exemplary leader for the University of Vocational Technology.

Professor K.M.G. Prasanna Premadasa is an accomplished academic, researcher, and higher education reformist who leads the University of Vocational Technology with a forward-looking vision. A biotechnology expert with over a decade of experience in teaching and cutting-edge research, he is a passionate advocate for modernising technical and vocational education in Sri Lanka. He previously established and led the Faculty of Technology at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), where he played an instrumental role in building a world-class technology faculty from the ground up. As Vice Chancellor of UoVT, he continues to champion innovation, industry collaboration, and academic excellence — empowering graduates to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global workforce.
